Reply with quote | #1 | Our customers are the coolest people in the world. From ecological restoration to wildlife habitat, from regenerating our high value hardwood timber resource to efforts to preserve and restore the American chestnut... our customers are amazing people doing amazing things.
We'll use this thread to chronicle some of the great projects our customers are working on. Stay tuned! Hopefully it would be a source of information and inspiration for your own projects.

Reply with quote | #2 | Mr. Lee Wahlund of the Central Dakota Sportsmans Club stopped by today to pick up some weed mats & staples (and called later to order some treeshelters... thanks Lee!) Lee has initiated a terrific program in his area: WAHLUND Youth Program (Wildlife and Habitat Land Use North Dakota - I like it!). As young people complete their hunter safety program, WAHLUND then involves the kids in projects such as building wood duck boxes & duck hen houses, and participating in pheasant releases. Participation in a habitat project would qualify kids for a pheasant or duck hunt, accompanied by a parent and mentor. The goal is to make their first hunting experience a quality experience. Great work Lee! If you are interested in supporting Lee in his efforts email us a info@plantra.com and we'll get you in touch.

Reply with quote | #3 | Another exciting project of our customers in Ohio is the transformation of a wasteland mine field into a restored American chestnut forest at Jockey Hollow Wildlife Management Area near Cadiz, Ohio. Volunteers and a professor from the Ohio University planted 800 disease resistant American chestnut trees on 20-acres of reclaimed mine land. These seeds and seedlings were properly planted and protected with Jump Start treeshelters on a nutrient-poor and acidic soil condition. The land preparation technique these trees were planted into is referred to as "loose end dumping."
